John Colter Conditioning Circut

As I mentioned in an earlier post I set up a conditioning circut on my property. Since I also wanted to practice with my tomahawk I started taking a tomahawk out to practice when I do the circut.

I have named my conditioning circut after John Colter. Colter was a member of the Lewis and Clark party but stayed in the West as a trapper when the expeditoin was over. In 1810 he was captured by a war party of Blackfoot Indians.

The Blackfoot stripped Colter naked and released him with the idea they would chase him down. Colter fought his way past the Indians and when he returned to St. Louis was the first white man to report on the wonders of the Yellowstone River area.
